Madrid denied Coutois anxiety reports - Remsport

Real Madrid have denied that Thibaut Courtois suffers from or has suffered from anxiety lately.

The Belgian was taken off ill at half-time against Club Brugge and hasn't trained since, meaning he'll miss the game with Granada this weekend.Feeling better now, Courtois has lost over three kilos in weight, suffering with gastroenteritis.

It was speculated that he was struggling with anxiety, but Madrid have responded to those rumours.

"In relation to certain information about our player Thibaut Courtois," a club statement read, "Real Madrid want to state the following:

1. Our player has never been diagnosed with anxiety and that information is absolutely false.

2. Courtois has been diagnosed and treated for gastroenteritis with dehydration and an electrolyte imbalance, which made it impossible for him to finish Tuesday's game against Brugge.

3. The player is responding well to the treatment."
