Nigeria’s Under 17 male national team Golden Eaglets on Sunday defeated hosts Turkey 2-0 in their first game at the ongoing UEFA/CAF U17 invitational tournament.
Olakunle Olusegun and Divine Nwachukwu scored in both halves to ensure a opening day Victory for Manu Garba tutored side.
They will now take on Guatemala on Tuesday in their second game of the tournament which has the likes of Angola and Cameroon in attendance.
For the Golden Eaglets, the tournament is to intensify preparations for the 2019 FIFA Under 17 World Cup which comes up later in the year.
Nigeria have won the FIFA Under 17 World Cup five times and will be gunning for title number six when the showpiece kicks off in Brazil
